a: Kuan Yin Candle

Beautiful hand made candle, fragranced with natural essential oils of rose geranium and Nag Champa.  It comes with a terracotta Kuan Yin pendant.  Each pendant is hand made and no two are exactly the same.  The pendant can be worn or placed on an altar.

The inclusion of essential oils is generous with these candles and it smells wonderful.

The label tells the story of Kuan Yin, as follows:

Kuan Yin is the Goddess of Compassion and Mercy.  She is the one who 'hears the cries of the world'.  Legend says that Kuan Yin, originally a princess, having forsaken marriage, lived her life in a convent, much to her father's anger and distrust.  She was a Buddhist Bodhisattva, which is a mortal who has achieved enlightenment and earned the right to enter Heaven or Nirvana.  When she was at the gates of Heaven, she heard someone on earth cry, and she turned back, vowing she would stay on earth to do all she could to ease our suffering.  She would not enter Heaven until everybody could go there with her.
