Window Sticker - Green Man
Text on back:
Look carefully in many ancient churches, all over England and carved in stone it is possible you may see the head of a man mysteriously emerging from the foliage which sprouts from his mouth and covers his face. The masons of medieval times paid homage to Gods and powers other than those to whom the churches were dedicated. These foliate heads were given the name 'Green Men' as recently as the 1940's
The Green Man depicted on this sticker is taken from a stunning roof boss painted and decorated with gold leaf, which may be seen in the cloisters at Norwich Cathedral.
